Victory in the Leatt-Brace South African Grand Prix to Spaniard Jonathan Barragan, following his victory in the MX1 second race. Steve Ramon, winner of MX1 race one, ended 8th.
Tommy Searle won the opening heat and the day in MX2. Homeboy Tyla Rattray grabbed the hole shot and won the second moto, and ended second for the day.
Tony Cairoli, reigning MX2 world champion, was injured in thr first moto and looks to be out for the season. Despite a brave brief restart in the second race, he retired after 3 laps.
